Sct. Jacob’s Market & Poolen

Vi har været på Farmers market i Sct. Jacobs og købe frugt og grønt i lange baner – endelig er der friske ærter! Vi blev så varme at vi måtte en tur i poolen og køles ned i et par timer bagefter.

Wasaga Beach

Sommerens første tur til stranden er gået til Wasaga Beach ud til Georgian Bay. Lækkert klart og varmt vand, fint fint sand, sol fra en blå himmel og godt humør. Hvad mere kan man ønske sig?

Til hverdagsmorgenmad har vi her i vinter lavet hjemmelavet granola.

Det er super simpelt at lave et glas der varer hele ugen og tager kun 15 min.

3 spsk. honning

1 cup øko havregryn

1 cup hakkede mandler

1/4 cup hakkede solsikkefrø

1/4 cup hakkede græskarkerner

 

How to:

  1. Honning smeltes ved jævn varme på pande.
  2. Alle gryn, frø og nødder hakkes så groft som man nu kan lide det.
  3. Vendes rundt i den flydende honning på panden indtil det er lyst gyldent og samler sig lidt i klumper.
  4. Afkøles og hakkes lidt fra hinanden, før det fyldes på Mason glass.

Alle frø, nødder og bær kan bruges. Du kan evt. også tilsætte lidt mørk chokolade lige før det færigt på panden for en weekend version;O)

Pancakes gluten-free

1 cup gluten-free all purpose flour

1 heaping teaspoon xanthan gum

2 tsp. baking flour

1 cup rice/almond milk

2 tbsp. meltet vegan butter

A pinch of salt

4 tbsp. lemon juice

zest from 1 lemon

 

How to:

  1. Mix dry ingredients in one bowl.
  2. Mix wet ingredients in another bowl.
  3. Whisk it all together.
  4. Fry in vegan butter.
  5. Serve with fresh fruit and maple sirup.

Æbleskiver

Æbleskiver is a 400 years old Danish tradition. It means *sliced apple* as they started out as an apple slice covered in dough.
Traditionally people had æbleskiver in February to a carnival,that we are still celebrating, but now they are very popular around christmas time.

I morgen holder de pot-luck i Isabellas klasse og hun har bedt Mor om at lave æbleskiver..

Prep time : 10 min. + restting time and baking time.

For making approx. 25 æbleskiver you will need:

4 dl rice milk
240 g Flour 
3 tabl. fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1⁄4 teaspoon crème de tatar
1 tablespoon Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Salt
3 tabl. apple sauce

1.Mix all ingredients very well, except from the apple sauce.

2.Leave in bowl to rest for 15 min.

3.Add the apple sauce.
4.Mix well.
5.Fry in butter in a æbleskive pan or other pan with holes approx. 5-6 cm.

Fill the hole up, when the dough is stiffening on the edge, turn with a thin stick and fry on the other side.

Serve with strawberry or raspberry jam and icing sugar for
dipping.
